ACCOUNTS

We accept the following methods of payment; cash, all major credit cards (Access, Visa, American Express, Diners).We do not accept solo, Maestro International and visa electron

If you or your company have pre-arranged for your account to be forwarded for payment, you are asked to check and sign your account at Reception before departure. You are advised that the hotel cannot accept queries on accounts after departure if they are unsigned.

Accommodation charges are taken on arrival.

If you are in hurry or are leaving early, please contact Reception and they will prepare your bill the evening before your departure, however up to date accounts are available through the night.

Express checkout is available; please see the reverse of the key card (Guest identification cards).

 

ADAPTORS

A limited supply of European adaptors is available at reception and a deposit of £10 will be posted to your bill and refunded on departure after retrieval.

 

AIR- CONDITIONING

To operate comfort cooling in your room use the remote control provided, following the simple instructions. A single long bleep indicates the change of instructions has been accepted. Please do not tamper with the ceiling buttons as this will prevent the A/C from operating. Only press the large orange button as on –off.

 

AIRPORTS

The airports serving London are:

Heathrow Airport: 15 minutes from Paddington to Heathrow with the  Heathrow Express to the Airport.
Gatwick Airport: 30 minutes by train on the Gatwick Express from Victoria Station, or by Coach on Gatwick Flyer from Victoria Coach Station.
Luton Airport: 30 minutes by train from St Pancras Station to Luton, with an additional coach connection to the airport.
Stanstead Airport47 minutes by train or coach from Liverpool Street Station
City Airport: 15 miles by shuttle bus from Canning Town Underground Station.

The Concierge can also book Taxis or “Hotelink” door-to-door services from the Hotel to Heathrow and Gatwick which should be booked 24 hours in advance.

The Concierge has maps and brochures on places of local interest as well as local shopping details.

 

BAGGAGE ASSISTANCE AND STORAGE

We have limited baggage storage available contact reception during stay for details, and arrange storage. The hotel does not take responsibility for any items lost during storage. Should you require assistance please call reception for 24 hr porterage.

 

BANK

Should you require access to one of the major banks, visit our Local services section, which has their exact location.

 

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is served in the Grosvoner Restaurant located on the ground floor near reception between 7:00-10:00 A.M. on weekdays and 7:30-10:30 A.M. on weekends and bank holidays.

 

CAR PARKING

The Hotel does not have a car park; there are several NCP car parks close by please call reception.
 

CHECK-OUT TIME

Checkout time is 12.00 PM should this be inconvenient or you wish to extend your stay, Reception will make every effort to accommodate your request. However, an extra charge will be incurred.  If you merely need a place to store luggage we have facilities in the building.

 

CHEMIST

The nearest Chemist is Moore & Co. Pharmacy on Praed Street.

 

COFFEE AND TEA

A kettle and a supply of coffee (decaf and regular), tea and milk are available in your room. Contact reception if you require any additional items.

 

COTS AND EXTRA BEDS

Cots and bedding are available from the Housekeeper. Please contact Reception.

 

DOCTOR

For medical attention please contact the Duty Manager at Reception. We will call an Ambulance in case of an emergency, or summon the Hotel Doctor if you wish (fees are the responsibility of the Hotel Guest). Please Dial 851/852 or alternative 9-999 but inform reception you have done this.

Emergency Services

To contact the police, fire or ambulance services dial 999 free from any public or private telephone. In case of accident most major hospitals have 24-hour Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments.

Free emergency treatment is open to:

- European Union nationals
- Nationals of non-EU European countries upon production of a passport
- UK residents of over 12 months
- Permanent UK residents
- Students and trainees whose course requires them to spend over 12 weeks in employment in their first year
- Students living in the UK for more than six months may be accepted as residents
- Political refugees and others who have sought refuge in the UK

There are no NHS charges for the following:

- Treatment in Accident and Emergency departments
- Certain district nursing, midwifery or health visiting
- Emergency ambulance transport
- Diagnosis and treatment of certain communicable diseases including STDs.
- Family planning services
- Compulsory psychiatric treatment

Everyday Health

As well as British citizens, residents (e.g. overseas students) and people with a UK work permit can all visit a General Practitioner free of charge. Anybody else can still visit a GP but will have to pay. Please check this terminal for a nearby doctors or ask at hotel reception. 

NHS Direct

NHS Direct is a confidential 24-hour free telephone helpline. By calling 0845 4647, callers can speak to a nurse for advice at any time of the day or night. Alternatively, you can visit their website www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk

 

DO NOT DISTURB

If you wish not to be disturbed at any time during your stay please leave the DO NOT DISTURB sign outside your door, and contact Reception to hold any calls to your room.

EXPRESS CHECK OUT

Express check out is available; Contact Reception if you require this service. You may settle your account any time during the day or night before your departure to save time in the morning.

 

FAX AND PHOTOCOPYING SERVICES

If you wish to receive or send faxes, or have items photocopied, contact Reception. This service is available 24 hrs.

The following charges apply: £2.00 for first page & £1.00 for each succeeding page for UK faxes.
£3.00 for first page & £1.50 for each succeeding page for faxes within Europe.
£5.00 for first page & £2.50 for each succeeding page to all other areas.

Photocopying is at a cost of £0.50 (£0.75 for double sided) per page.

 

FLOWERS

If you wish to send flowers or have them delivered to your room we can arrange it for you with our local florist.

 

GYMNASIUM

Our gymnasium is under renovation.

 

HAIR DRYER

Each bedroom has a hair dryer installed, usually found in the drawer of the dressing table.

 

HOUSEKEEPING

In order to make your stay more comfortable, we can provide extra blankets, towels, pillows, face cloths and toiletries or additional supplies of tea and coffee, without charge. Please contact Reception. Bathrobes and slippers are available on request.

 

ICE

Ice is available on request. Please contact Reception.

 

INTERNET

Broadband access is available from the RJ45 connections located on your desktop, for use with your laptops offering a free broadband connection; via the spooler. The broadband settings are configured to auto-assign the IP address. Any difficulties experienced please contact reception. In addition we have a guest computer located off the lobby in reception this also is free of charge.

 

IRONS

Iron and ironing boards are placed inside your wardrobes. Note the iron will automatically switch off if left in a horizontal position for more than 30 seconds.

 

KEYS

Electronic locks are fitted to bedrooms. Insert key card then withdraw before turning handle to open door. The card will automatically expire at 12 noon on day of departure.

 

LAUNDRY / DRY CLEANING

Please either deposit laundry at reception or dial “851/852” for collection before 8:00 AM. A same day service is available Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

 

LOST AND FOUND

If you misplace any property during your stay please contact Reception immediately. If you find a lost item please hand it over to Reception with details of where it was found. The hotel cannot be held responsible for any items left on departure or valuable items left in rooms safes are provided for these items.

 

MAINTENANCE

We would hope that we have properly checked your room prior to your arrival, but should you find anything not in working order, please report it to Reception and we will endeavour to repair it immediately, or notify you if unable.

 

MANAGER

One of our Management Team members is available 24 hours a day. Should you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact them. The Night Manager will answer the phone as quickly as possible as his duties do take him to all areas of the Hotel.

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Local bus and rail information is available at the Reception desk.  If you would like to make the enquiry please feel free to contact reception.

RESTAURANT

Grosvernor Restaurant will be open between 6.00pm and 10.00pm for dinner.
Breakfast is served between 7.00-10.00am on weekdays and 7.30-10.30 am on weekends and bank holidays.

 

STATIONARY

Writing paper and envelopes are available in your room and further supplies are available on request.

 

SAFETY AND SECURITY

ALARM

The Hotel Fire Alarm is tested every Friday. You will hear a loud siren. If this sound is continuous then please follow the procedure for evacuating the building as indicated on the back of your bedroom door.

 

EMERGENCIES

“IN CASE OF FIRE PLEASE EVACUATE THE BUILDING BY THE NEAREST EXIT”
Please read the fire instructions displayed in your room and familiarize yourself with the nearest means of escape.

The Hotel has a Fire certificate and the staff receives regular training. Should you require assistance in the event of fire please inform Reception so arrangements can be made for your welfare.

 

SAFE DEPOSITS

We have Hotel Safe wherein you can secure your valuables. Please contact Reception on 851/852.

 

SECURITY

Please ensure your bedroom door is closed when you depart. No valuables should be left in your room unattended. All rooms are equipped with electronic safes programmable by you. We regret that the hotel cannot be made responsible for the loss or damage to any guest’s property.

Internal Calls: to call from one room to another, use the prefix 3 in front of the room number.

External Calls: our system is direct dial. To make an outside call, dial 9 and then the number required. For international codes, contact Reception.
